Exclusively available online only via RMR, White Socks and a Walking Stick is a family biography of Albert Barnes, who was manager of the Marine Lake Fairground from 1910 to 1950.
Barnes built six steam locos in Rhyl, four which are still at RMR today. The book tells of his many other accomplishments in engineering, fairgrounds, and public life. It also gives a first hand account of the origins of the fairgrounds at Marine Lake and Ocean Beach.
